Farmers in Zimbabwe Receive Early Warning Radio

By Wallace Mawire

The Meteorological services department in Zimbabwe, with support from the Chinese government, has distributed about 1,600 early warning radios to farmers throughout the country.

The radio will enable these farmers to receive alert about any impending disasters and forecasts of extreme weather condition such as strong damaging winds, severe thunderstorms, and floods.

The radios have been deployed to the most vulnerable remote communities of the country.
