It was interesting to witness how taskforce paid an unexpected visit to a restaurant next to Unity Bank at Ita-eko, Abeokuta. These officials were furious about the state of drainage system (gutter) in front of the store. To cut the long story short, the restaurant owner was given an hour ultimatum to clear up the affected areas.

To my surprise, some of the workers immediately got to work. Some minutes later, one of the tax officials returned to inspect as promised but was not satisfied. He gave them another order to remove the sand from the gutter, which they did. I had my fill taking pictures of the scene.

Why do we have to wait to be told what to do or be disgraced before we do what we know is right in Nigeria?
