Ajegunle: Making Christmas Memorable For Vulnerable Kids

As part of an attempt to give the children in Ajegunle a happy Christmas, the reachout22 project organized a special programme tagged “Smiling Christmas.”

Residents in the community received Christmas Supplies such as food items, clothing, and gift packs. A side trip to the park was organized for the kids.

Omoyele Isaac Success, Founder, Reachout22 Project for Vulnerable Children, said that the programme was organized to give the children a reason to celebrate the Christmas festival like the privileged children.

“When others are celebrating during festive seasons they are salivating, but now, with ‘Smiling Christmas’ their story has changed,” he said.

The Project Manager,  Omobolanle Bisiriyu, also commented on the fact that majority of the beneficiaries find it hard to feed their families during this festive period.

“We believe that this would give them healthy self-esteem as children, because most of the families where beneficiaries of Reachout22 project come from find it difficult to feed especially during festive period.” Bisiriyu said.

The purpose of the programme was achieved as parents and children were joyous and happy with a sense of being important.

“We reached our goal of making this Christmas a Smiling one for vulnerable families. No doubt it was a memorable experience,” said Belynda Oduware, Project Welfare Director.
