A Nigerian entrepreneur, Tony Elumelu, is giving out $100m to support business ideas or existing businesses not older than three years through an initiative called Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP)”

TEEP will identify and help grow 10,000 start-ups and young businesses from across Africa over the next 10 years, targeting the creation of 1,000,000 new jobs and $10 billion in annual revenues. Read more here: APF OR here VA.

It can be recalled that earlier this year Elumelu floated  a $9 million Fund to empower and support residents of distressed communities across Nigeria.

“By making social investments and grants available in select distressed communities across Nigeria, the Elumelu Nigeria Empowerment Fund will economically empower individuals and communities by creating and fostering an enabling environment that will support a new generation of entrepreneurs,” said Elumelu, during the launch of the $9m fund. “Entrepreneurs create jobs, opportunity, and wealth at the local level and in doing so, they play a vital role in reducing poverty and addressing a range of social issues that cause conflict and instability…”
